The history of Kellogg's® Corn Flakes

From the very beginning Kellogg’s® cereals were founded on good health principles. In the 1890’s, Will Keith Kellogg and his brother Dr John Harvey Kellogg set about developing a nutritious cereal for the patients of a health resort.

In 1894, the process of tempering was discovered, when the pair were trying to create a more easily digestible form of bread. The result was wheat flakes. From wheat flakes to corn flakes was a simple process. In 1906 W.K. Kellogg started his own company, Kellogg’s®, to market them.

To avoid confusion with competitor products, W.K. Kellogg had his name and signature scripted on each package of Kellogg’s® Corn Flakes along with the explanation " The original has this signature".

Today they remain the original and the best! Kellogg's® Corn Flakes are available in 310g, 525g and 825g (Australia only) packs.
